Granola Chocolate Chip Monster Cookies

This recipe started off as an experiment and kind of a joke. I happened to be making both a batch of chocolate chip cookies and a batch of Honey Almond Granola on a night when my boyfriend was at our house for movie night. After looking warily at the granola, and excitedly at the chocolate chip cookies, he reluctantly took a bite of granola. AND LIKED IT! You would have to know him to really get the significance here, but this was HUGE! He is not a “granola” kinda guy. While I stood there, stunned by what had occurred, he came up with one of his signature brilliant ideas. COMBINE THE GRANOLA WITH THE COOKIE DOUGH. Revolutionary. I haven’t been the same since.

3 cups Honey Almond Granola

1 batch Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies

I give 100% full and total credit to the folks at Nestle Tollhouse for their chocolate chip cookie recipe. I do not in any way claim the recipe as my own. I do claim the good sense to know a good thing when I see it. Their chocolate chip cookie recipe is, in my opinion, hands-down the best! Plus it brings back great memories of childhood.

Breakfast granola - honey & almond.

Mix the granola and cookie recipes together. Warning: batter will become thick, messy and, well, monster-like. The messier the better. Form each scoop of batter into a heaping ball, and flatten slightly onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Cool and then try to eat just one!
